On Sunday, April 12th I took part in a wonderful food experience known as ¡Mucho Gusto! Delray. The event consisted of a 4 course pre set menu paired with cocktails.

Restaurateur Justin Himmelbaum and Chef Jake Hébert welcome guests to their 3rd pop up dinner, hosted at a lovely home in Delray Beach. Each event is hosted at a different venue, which is announced just days before the gathering. How cool is that? It really adds to the excitement leading up the the event and keeps things refreshing for returning guests.

Kicking off the evening with champagne & loaded pop corn

Soup & Salad — Grilled Green Pepper Gazpacho, Local Greens and Herbs, Prosciutto, Marcona Almonds

Burger on Pretzel Bun – Bacon + Ground Beef accompanied by Sundried Tomato Pesto and Charred Onion Aioli

I was so psyched about the pretzel bun! The minimalistic wood plank did not go unnoticed, I dig it.

Pancake Stuffed Waffle with Balsamic Maple Banana Cream

I was glad to have walked in the kitchen during the preparation of this dish and saw the craftsmanship that went into it. The maple from the dish was in a gelatinous cube form before the dish was served which I found to be really interesting.

This concept is just what South Florida needed. The Mucho Gusto team filled this gap in a heart filled way. People who appreciate food can meet up, engage with each other, sit back and enjoy the show.

This dinner was ($55). The next pop up will be a fundraiser at Space of Mind on Sunday, April 26th. There will be a 12:30 brunch ($70) and a dinner at 5:30 ($100). Part of the proceeds will go to benefiting Space of Mind’s no Place For Hate anti-bullying campaign.
