The Little Chalet, an exceptional prime steakhouse and fondue fine dining experience, credited with first introducing the Swiss flavors of fondue to Brazil over 35 years ago, has officially opened its doors in Boca Raton. With a vast selection of innovative, gourmet fondues, prime steak and seafood offerings and unparalleled service and hospitality, The Little Chalet invites guests to become family, creating long-lasting memories as they embark on an enchanting culinary journey.
Recognized as one of Brazil’s Top 10 Restaurants, The Little Chalet first began as a quaint and charming boutique shop, growing quickly into its destiny, introducing the Swiss flavors of fondue to Brazil and becoming a much beloved day-to-night, multigenerational dining escape.
A 4,400 square foot space, The Little Chalet maintains a charmingly cozy environment, with homey and whimsical décor details adorning every nook and cranny. Amidst the dimly lit red walls, cobblestone floors and fire place, quaint and detailed decorations such as bird cages, flower pots, mini snowy cottages and bird figurines adorn the area. A corner with a piano provides a special entertaining touch, completing the enchanting, romantic ambience with the tunes of live music.
Helming the kitchen is Executive Chef Farrin Kolpan, who brings with him over 20 years of culinary experience, specializing in steakhouses.
Widely known for their gourmet fondues, The Little Chalet offers a variety of mouthwatering options allowing guests to savor the diverse flavors of Europe. Fondues are available as appetizers or as full meals and come with accompaniment options like filet mignon, chicken, pork, White Truffle Noisette potatoes and vegetables. Cheese fondues are made with cheeses such as Emmental, Grand Cru, Parmesan and Blue Cheese, while wine fondues are made with red wine and a homemade beef broth, creating a bourguignon-style sauce. Try them all with The Royal Chalet ($68), a house combination of USDA Prime filet mignon, pork tenderloin and seasoned chicken breast. For dessert, guests can indulge in The Little Chalet’s gourmet Lindt chocolate fondue creations, developed by Ricky himself.
Iceberg wedge topped with blue cheese dressing, blue cheese crumbles, diced bacon and egg, topped with crispy onions and grape tomatoes.
Black Truffle Burrata — a rich and creamy, black truffle-infused soft cheese garnished with cherry tomatoes and served with garlic crostini.
Or as I like to refer to them as: little pillows of ecstasy. The texture of the creamy burrata and the infusion of black truffle equates to an epic party in your mouth.
My favorite cheese fondue was the Quattro Formaggi consisting of emmental, grand cru, parmesan and blue cheese combined to create a balanced and robust flavor profile. You cant go wrong with the The Swiss Alps Original, either. There are four additional flavors to choose from including Crème de la Crème, Margherita, Wild Mushroom and Spicy Chalet.
Fondue Accompaniments pictured above show the Little Smoked Sausages and the Light Mix (broccoli, potato and white mushroom).
The White Truffle Cream Spinach was really good although honestly how can any dish with truffle be anything other than delicious? Unless of course you just do not like truffle.
My favorite among the entree options I tasted is the Chalet Swiss Filet – a prime filet mignon filled with prosciutto and catupiry cheese and beef bechamel.
The Fennel-Infused Cream Corn was another fabulous side dish. I really loved how it was not just another cream corn, the use of fennel really sets it apart.
(Left) Honey Glazed Salmon – fresh wild salmon, served with a sweet honey glaze, over a bed of roasted fennel.
(Right) Garlic Crusted Halibut – fresh tender halibut with a panko garlic crust, served over sliced broiled tomato.
Crispy Potato Roesti in the center – one of the side dishes offered.
The Chocolate S’mores fondue is not to be missed! There is no shortage of fun dipping supplies either.
I would totally come back to The little Chalet just for this dessert however there are many reasons to go back.
