In celebration of Art Basel, Living Room, the sultry, night-time playground nestled in the lobby  of the W South Beach Hotel & Residences, has created the Le Jardin – a Basel-inspired cocktail featuring vodka, elderflower liqueur and a house made ‘green juice’ of wheatgrass, spinach, mint, honeydew, lemon, pineapple and honey.Living Room is the perfect place to start before dining at one of the W Hotel’s premiere dining establishments, The Dutch or Mr. Chow, or before a night of partying. Live in-house DJ spins loungey sounds nightly from 7PM until 2AM.

Michy’s & The Garden Café by Michelle Bernstein

For the 3rd year in a row, celebrity Chef Michelle Bernstein returns to the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens with two concepts exclusive to Art Basel Miami Beach – The Garden Café by Michelle Bernstein and Michy’s Pop Up.  In operation November 30 – December 6, the Michy’s pop up signals a limited engagement return of her celebrated restaurant Michy’s, which she recently closed, renovated and reopened on the mainland as CENA by Michy.  Housed in the Banyan Room and on its terrace, Michy’s serves a sophisticated and sublime dinner menu of Bernstein signatures and new favorites; The Garden Café is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch or grab n’ go gourmet fare.

Fresh pastries and piping hot gourmet coffee are the perfect jump start; lunch items will include an array of Soups, Sandwiches, Salads and Entrees, many featuring locally-sourced ingredients.  Standouts include carrot miso soup with crispy leeks, tomato and burrata salad with arugula, beets and crunchy bread, rotisserie chicken salad sandwich with candied pistachios and dried cranberries on brioche; and Meyer lemon and thyme grilled fresh fish with greens, Cerignola olives and salsa verde.

Abstract Art at Mandarin Oriental in Brickell Key

Making its debut in the hotel’s waterfront Peruvian restaurant La Mar by Gastón Acurio, “Pure Abstraction” features artworks by internationally recognized contemporary street artist and award-winning painter Alex Brewer, known as HENSE. The exhibition celebrates the restaurant’s vibrant atmosphere and eclectic cuisine with a collection of artworks combining techniques of graffiti and abstract painting. Elegant compositions saturated with bold colors and lively movement will show how HENSE explores the relationship between his experiences in the studio and on the street.

On Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 7pm to 9pm, La Mar will host an evening fusing art, music and technology. Guests will have the opportunity to meet HENSE and discuss his works, followed by an exclusive performance by Pauchi Sasaki of Peru. During Sasaki’s performance, she wears a dress of speakers which allows her to mix live violin performance with electronic music through sensors on her hands. A special menu inspired by the art and performance will be presented by La Mar Executive Chef Diego Oka.

The art exhibition featuring the work of Alex Brewer “HENSE” will be on view at La Mar December 3-6, 2015 and Diego’s art-inspired menu will be available during this time.

Jacked Fashion Art Camp at Freehand Miami

An accessible environment in Miami to showcase young and passionate artists from all over the world.

Each artist will be showcasing their work in a unique installation experience created somewhere within The Freehand. This will include projections, sculptures, films, music, and fashion. Interactive arts and crafts will be available to guests. Live musical performances and DJ’s will be featured throughout the week alongside the pop-up’s and installations.
