SuViche, the innovative Peruvian-Japanese restaurant and Pisco bar, is pleased to announce the opening of its new location on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. Located at 401 East Las Olas Boulevard on SE 4th Avenue, SuViche offers a variety of beautifully crafted and explosively flavorful sushi rolls, ceviches and sautéed Peruvian specialties where freshness with flavor is the focus.
Launched five years ago in Miami, the SuViche brand brings together Japanese and Peruvian cuisines to create dishes that are healthy, fresh and affordable. The Las Olas location will include specialties created by Executive Chef Jaime Pesaque who has gained worldwide recognition opening some of the world’s best restaurants such as Mayta in Hong Kong and in Lima, Peru.
SuViche’s Las Olas menu includes creative sushi rolls like the Jalapeño Roll made with white fish and avocado, sprinkled with cilantro and topped with a slice of jalapeño pepper and torched spicy mayo; fresh ceviches such as Chifa Ceviche (that won Best Bites of the Beach at the Miami Wine and Food Festival in 2013) featuring a sweet and sour based SuViche Peruvian Sauce enhanced with teriyaki, pickled ginger, chopped avocado and sliced onion, and topped with fried wonton crisps; and sautéed Peruvian specialties including Lomo Saltado – juicy steak sautéed with red and green onions, tomatoes and signature Lomo Sauce; Pescado a lo Macho – a perfect combination of breaded fish and SuViche’s take on a creamy aji amarillo and seafood sauce; and Arroz Humedo – a Peruvian style risotto with choice of chicken or seafood sautéed in a perfectly blended Peruvian pepper cream sauce.
Sage suggestions — here are our favorites from our most recent visit to SuViche:
Ceviche SuViche – A twist on the Peruvian “acevichada”
+ If you are looking for more of a umami flavor, try the Ceviche Chifa for its sesame infused sauce with plenty of garlic and ginger.
The Jalapeño Roll – White fish and avocado, sprinkled with cilantro and topped with a slice of jalapeño pepper (mild as can be) then torched spicy mayo.
+ Another really great roll to try is the White Hot Heat Roll, especially if you are a sriracha lover like I am!
Seafood Arroz Humedo – Peruvian style risotto; your choice of juicy chicken breast or seafood sauteed in a perfectly blended Peruvian pepper cream sauce, add rice and tomatoes then finished with Parmesan cheese. Topped with citrus marinated red onion slaw “salsa criolla”.
+ If you not a seafood person, try the Aji de Gallina, it is a delicious chicken dish with a fabulous sauce.
Alfajores – Dulce de Leche Cookie Sandwiches
The Las Olas location for SuViche is also be home to Fort Lauderdale’s first Pisco Bar featuring more than 15 cocktails including homemade Pisco macerados – or infusions – adorned with ingredients such as gummy bears, lychee and lemongrass. Pisco, a Peruvian brandy, is blended with fresh berries, herbs and spices to create the perfect flavor profiles. Guests can try SuViche’s refreshing Pisco cocktails such as the Blueberry Thyme made with muddled fresh blueberries, thyme, lemon and a blueberry thyme macerado over ice. Other Peruvian ingredients such as Chicha Morada – a sweet beverage made from purple corn – is mixed with passion fruit juice and purple corn macerado to create SuViche’s sinfully delicious Chicha Maracuya.
Pisco Sour
SuViche’s new Fort Lauderdale location seats a total of 150 guests, inside and out, including an outdoor awning-covered patio. The 2,900-square-foot restaurant features an artsy décor with warm color tones and a welcoming atmosphere complete with unique light fixtures, a one of a kind moss art piece, and living walls. Light and refreshing cocktails are the perfect companion to the exceptional combination of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine as guests get comfortable on eclectic fabrics and rustic yet modern wood.
Promotions include Sushi Tuesdays offering buy one, get one half off sushi rolls; a “Cheers to the Lipstick” Ladies Night every Thursday and Happy Hour with two for one drinks and food menu every day from 3 p.m. 7 p.m. Takeout, online ordering and delivery will soon be available to the surrounding area.
