We recently socialized at The Social Club for dinner and cocktails with new Executive Chef Jeffrey Williams. Although new to the restaurant located at Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel, “Cheffrey” (as he refers to himself) is not a new comer to the culinary arts!
Chef Jeffrey hails from NYC where he recently held the position of Executive Chef at the popular NIOS restaurant in Manhattan. With almost two decades of experience, Chef Jeffrey has honed his skills in some of the country’s top kitchens.
Blossoming into quite the Food Network competitor, Chef Jeffrey has appeared and competed in the network’s popular Beat Bobby Flay, Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell and the YouTube chef series, Epic Chef.
In 2018, he will host two popular Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival events: The Art of Tiki Showdown and Bacardi Beach Party.
Ok, now let’s see what he’s got in store for us at the restaurant:
The new culinary menu is complemented by creative cocktail offerings at The Social Club bar. The new selection of handcrafted cocktails include creative refreshing libations such as Put the Lime in the Coconut crafted with housemade Demerara simple syrup, Thai coconut milk, housemade lime-infused Belvedere and Amaretto Disaronno.
A personal favorite of the lead mixologist is the Whistle While You Work with Whistlepig Rye pictured here on the right. It happened to me my favorite of the evening as well!
Interestingly, cocktails are typically served without a straw so that guests can maximize their experience utilizing their sense of smell.
The chicken is prepared sous-vide with butter milk for 3 hours. Showing some flare with the cheddar biscuits and accompanying greens, love it!
Chef Jeffrey takes this extensive and diverse culinary experience as inspiration for his new menus at The Social Club. “I have been fortunate to work for chefs and restaurants at all points along the culinary spectrum: from Indian cuisine to Italian to French. I had a lot of fun working those global influences into my menus at The Social Club,” says Williams. The Social Club’s new dinner and brunch menus beautifully marry those global flavors with the regional cuisine The Social Club has become known for and loved. “Miami is such a beautiful melting pot of cultures and foods, and has incredible tropical produce.”
Which dish are you dying to try?! Tell us in the comments!
