Old-Fashioned Soda Shop: Foxworth Fountain at Delray Shores Pharmacy – The South Florida Sage

I’m excited to highlight a unique dining experience located in Delray Beach. I had lunch at an old-fashioned soda shop (they also serve breakfast, brunch, and lot’s of fun desserts). It’s actually attached to a pharmacy. Here’s what you can expect:

Classic Buttermilk Biscuit with Irish butter and Florida honey

This isn’t any ‘ol biscuit. These babies are made fresh from scratch daily. I went with the classic but it doesn’t stop there. Choose from an array of biscuit dishes such as Biscuits & Gravy or try a Biscuit Sundae! Yes, you read that right – a biscuit sundae, topped with coffee ice cream, candied bacon, pure maple syrup, and fresh whipped cream.

Boar’s Head natural roasted turkey breast, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo

On this sandwich was some of the BEST bacon I’ve ever tried. It was an all around good sandwich, actually, made with fresh tomatoes and just the right amount of mayo. Even the bread was very good.

Turkey, Cranberry & Fontina Panini Boar’s Head natural roasted turkey
breast, house-made cranberry sauce,
fontina cheese, and spinach

This was the sandwich my husband ordered, I had a bite and it was yummy!

Caramel Cream Vanilla Ice Cream and Due South Brewery Caramel Cream Ale in a caramel lined glass

I had a smaller version as a sample of this adult milkshake from the Craft Beer Shake section of the menu. I must say that I was a bit hesitant to try a milk and beer combo. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was enjoyable. I would for sure drink it again!

(L) Daddy, Chill Out Mint Chocolate Chip Milkshake in a fudge lined glass with a 25 mg dose of CW Hemp Mint Chocolate flavored CBD Oil.

This is not your mamma’s milkshake. This medicinal mint chocolate milkshake was great!

(R) Orange Creamsicle Float House-made orange syrup, cold seltzer, and a
scoop of vanilla ice cream

My nutrition loving self is pleased to find a version of an orange creamsicle that doesn’t involve high fructose corn syrup and artificial coloring. My foodie self is thinking that is reminds me of Emergen-C and wishes it was soda. This is bigger than that though. This is a part of history. This is how old fashioned soda jerks do it and I respect it. After all, this is a pharmacy. Back in the day people used to directly ask the pharmacist to help cure their ailments explained the one of the owners; Rhyan. She and her husband TJ own the place. TJ is a second generation pharmacist of the adjoining Delray Shores Pharmacy.

Come for the desserts, leave impressed by the food all around. That’s what I did.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary tasting at Foxworth. All opinions are my own.
