In October, we joined Beauty & the Feast Bar|Kitchen at The Atlantic Hotel & Spa for a Full Moon Dinner & Party. Guests feasted on a three-course meal from Beauty & the Feast on the 5th Floor Oceanfront Terrace of the Atlantic Hotel with a wonderful view of Ft. Lauderdale beach. There was even music by a live DJ, and guests were treated to a thrilling, one-of-a-kind fire show. Don’t miss the next one in November!
The Wicked Spice cocktail was featured that evening – made with Rum Chata cream liqueur, vanilla vodka, pumpkin spice and garnished with cinnamon.
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this drink! I usually don’t drink rum nor dessert-like alcoholic beverages. It was seriously delish and perfect for fall!
- Salt Roasted Beet Salad
Sweet goat cheese, bitter arugula, spiced pumpkin seeds, with an orange gastrique
This appetizer had some great flavor combinations going on.. the only thing I would have changed is the ratio of beets to the other ingredients.
- Sweet Corn Cake
Topped with braised beef, guacamole, & lime-scented sour cream, cotija cheese
This was probably my favorite bite of the evening! The corn cake itself was kind of like a dessert, but I’m not mad at it! The cojita cheese and beef helped to balance out the sweetness.
- Charred Octopus
Squid ink & sweet pea risotto, topped with poached egg & reggiano breadcrumbs
Definitely one of the more innovative octopus dishes I’ve tried. Also loved how this dish fit into the spooky Halloween month theme.
- Salted Caramel Apple Snicker Cake
The creamy element inside of the cake was my favorite part.

- Grilled Mahi Mahi
Sweet parsnip, brown butter cauliflower, pepper-pineapple chutney.

Crispy duck quarters, sweet carrot, spicy mustard greens.
