New Menu Items at Deck 84 in Delray Beach – The South Florida Sage

The best part of living in South Florida is dining on the water. There is just something about the cool breeze, beautiful view and tropical vibe that makes me feel at home. Therefore, when I had the chance to visit Deck 84, I couldn’t wait. Eating at Deck 84 in Delray Beach takes casual waterfront dining to a whole other level, whether you arrive by boat or foot! I suggest to sit outside for the picture-perfect view of the intracoastal waterway.

There have been some changes since our last visit. Deck 84 has a new Executive Chef, Michael Romano who prepares local and seasonally inspired dishes that will definitely keep you coming back for more.

One of these signature seasonal dishes is the Jumbo Lump Crab Stack. The crabstack includes avocado, mango, pickled red onion and chipotle remoulade – it’s a signature dish for a reason! It’s super creamy with a kick of flavor from the remoulade on the bottom.

I also tried one of the newer menu items, the Pear & Brie Flatbread. The flatbread included poached pear, brie, miso bacon brittle, lemon-balsamic reduction and arugula. The bitterness of the arugula is beautifully balanced with the sweet and savory from the bacon and pear.

The Prime Flat Iron Steak provides a generous portion of meat accompanied with crisp green beans and roasted fingering potatoes covered with a red wine sauce. If you are a meat lover, this ones for you!

The Pan-Roasted Salmon is one the Chef’s favorite dishes. The Fregola pasta, black truffle and lemon butter sauce made this dish quite elegant and rich. The aspargus and basil added a much needed brightness to the dish.

Why not have a cocktail for dessert? The unique Iced Frappuccio is truly something I’ve never tasted before. I would recommend saving this one for later on in your meal since it is sweet and full of rumchata!

Of course, a cocktail just does not do it for me as a dessert alone, I had to get the Chunky Monkey Crème Brulee. It was a sweet ending to a lovely meal at Deck 84.

If you are looking for the quintessential South Florida experience, visiting Deck 84 in Delray Beach will fulfil your needs. If the atmosphere alone doesn’t impress you, the refreshing cocktails and local catch will sweep you off your feet!
