The 17th Annual Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival Returned to EAT. DRINK. EDUCATE. this past February 21 – 25, 2018.
This year, I checked out the third annual CRAVE Greater Fort Lauderdale Series of the SOBEWFF events which included an all-star schedule of events in Broward County, including a Clambake hosted by Emeril Lagasse and Jorge Ramos at the brand-new Conrad Hotel in Fort Lauderdale Beach. Here are some of our favorite bites of the night:
Tostada de Mariscos from El Vez soon to open at W Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach
Clam Roll and New England Clam Chowder from American Social Las Olas
Chef Paula DaSilva of Burlock Coast Ritz Carltons’ take on a Clam Chowder with collards, charred lemon and butter broth.
Tropical Ceviche from Padrinos Cuban Cusines’ new Fort Lauderdale Location
Shrimp and caviar from the now closed Hot and Soul of Oakland Park
Pork Belly & Clams from Wild Sea Oyster Bar & Grille of Las Olas
Cavatelli and Clams from 3030 Ocean of Marriott Harbor Beach Hotel Fort Lauderdale
Pork & Clams from Jorge Ramos of the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel
Seafood crudo from Terra Mare by chef @jsvensson71
Fluffernutter Sundae by @duffgoldman
Fun treats by @chef_jorge_ramos of @conradftlbeach – dulce key lime bacon donut, foie cheesecake pop, push pops!
The Savvy Strawberry and The SoFla Sage
The clambake event premiered for the first time this year during SOBEWFF. I was actually really impressed with this is event. I didn’t know what to expect.. when I heard about it, I thought, would it be all clams? The clam was certainly incorporated in dishes to go with the theme but it wasn’t overbearing and there was a wonderful variety of seafood as well. Plus, a lot of stellar desserts and wine.
So, if you’re a #seafoodie like me, you should definitely check out this event next year!
