The JEY Hospitality Group is pleased to announce the completion of Himmarshee Public House’s new indoor/outdoor bar. Located in the historic Himmarshee Village, Himmarshee Public House has also launched a new menu including 16 new dishes that reveal the old American comfort food tradition and new American Classic Cocktails. The new menu will be offered at both the new bar (Thursday through Saturday) and the restaurant’s main dining area daily.

The new indoor/outdoor bar has been constructed adjacent to the west side of the main restaurant and features a stunning concrete counter atop planked wood. The words, “Public House” are lit behind the bar on walls also adorned with rustic-finished wood. The new bar also features a full liquor bar, two TVs and interchanging neon lights underneath the countertop. The adjoining wall is embellished with a new JEY Hospitality Group logoed sign featuring the namesake’s acronym, “JUST ENJOY YOURSELF”. A Bar Bites menu was also released and is available during Happy Hour at the new bar Thursday through Saturday with dishes such as Warm Pretzels, Crispy Calamari and Smoked Fish Dip. Himmarshee Public House’s Happy Hour is Monday through Friday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a special PINK Thursday Ladies Night beginning at 9 p.m., where the restaurant raffles off a couture designer gift to one lucky lady (like a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes).

Additionally, new craft cocktails were added to the drink menu that are themed with an old American inspiration. American Classics include Smoked Old Fashioned, which is made with Makers 46, Pimento Bitters, topped with an Amarena Cherry, sugar cube and orange peel and is served in a hickory smoked glass. The new Clover Club drink is brilliantly mixed with Plymouth Gin, fresh lemon juice, raspberry syrup, an egg white and garnished with fresh raspberry.

Catering to the foodie, the 16 new dishes on Himmarshee Public House’s updated menu includes additions to Snacks & Bites section, All-American fare and American comfort food classics.

The main dining room:

c

Sweet & Sour Candied Pork Belly with a Cool Watermelon Salad, Slow Cooked Meatballs with San Marzano Tomato, Homemade Whipped Ricotta & Local Basil, Bacon Wrapped Local Shrimp with Smoked Bacon and a Honey Sriracha Glaze over Coleslaw.

All three were really really great, I definitely cleared my plate with this trio. These items are offered separately on the menu but I hope to see a sampler offered soon!

d

Kale Salad with Mandarin Oranges, Roasted Almonds and Honey-Almond Vinaigrette

The vinaigrette is the star of this dish, making it sweet and summery. I am typically not one for fruity salads, I would actually prefer a savory salad like a Caesar but this is one fruit influenced salad I would order again.

Speaking of Caesar, I spotted a FRIED CHICKEN CAESAR SANDWICH on the menu, I must come back to try it!

e

Maple Bourbon Grilled Salmon with Squash, Bell & Evans Pan Roasted Chicken with Potato Disks and Natural Pan Jus Sauce, Wynwood “Pops” Porter Braised Short Rib with Mashed Potato and Fried Onion.

Interestingly, my favorite was the chicken! I do like chicken but its something I try not to order when I am out at a restaurant only because its something I make often at home. This natural chicken had a great flavor and was nicely cooked. The salmon was very good too however I personally wasn’t a fan of the short rib.
